After 17 years of military service — and continuing to serve today — James Peterson founded Vets2Vocation from personal experience navigating the difficult transition from military to civilian life. Alongside his military career, James has built and led multiple businesses across construction contracting, pest control, solar energy, cybersecurity, youth sports development through Forge Hoops, and veteran workforce advocacy through Vets2Vocation. His passion is helping veterans successfully reintegrate into civilian life by connecting them with career opportunities, resources, mentorship, and employers who recognize the value veterans bring to the workforce.

Rock Tolman brings more than 15 years of executive-level experience in human resources, talent acquisition, workforce development, and organizational leadership across logistics, energy, transportation, industrial operations, and solar industries. He has led large-scale recruiting and HR operations for organizations with thousands of employees, helping companies improve retention, workforce planning, leadership development, and hiring strategy. Throughout his career, Rock has worked closely with veterans and understands the leadership, discipline, adaptability, and mission-focused mindset they bring to the workforce. His expertise helps Vets2Vocation bridge the gap between veterans and employers by helping organizations identify, hire, develop, and retain veteran talent effectively.

With 17 years of recruiting experience, Heidi Peterson has dedicated her career to helping connect the right people with the right opportunities. Her background in talent placement, relationship building, and workforce development allows her to understand both employer needs and candidate strengths. Heidi has extensive experience working with veterans and understands the unique challenges many face when transitioning from military service into civilian careers. She is passionate about helping veterans translate their skills into meaningful employment opportunities while helping employers recognize the tremendous value veterans bring through leadership, accountability, teamwork, and resilience.
